Many criminal and public record searches are completed within one business day. However, there are circumstances that may cause delays in the process. Additionally, education. employment, credentials, and reference verifications can take 3 to 5 business days to be completed.
What is form 1-9?
Use Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
Do I have to have new hires complete an I-9?
All employers must complete and retain Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, for every person they hire for employment after Nov. 6, 1986, in the U.S. as long as the person works for pay or other type of payment.

How can I obtain a free copy of my background check report?
Per the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, you are entitled to a free copy of the completed report during each 12-month period. To receive a free copy of the report(s) in your file, please complete our online contact form.
What information is needed to conduct my background check?
Before a company starts your background check, you’ll need to sign a written disclosure that states that the background check will be run for employment purposes. To complete the background check, you'll be asked for things such as your full legal name, any aliases, current address, date of birth, and social security number. In addition, you may be asked for employment history, education history, and professional references.
How many years does a background check typically cover?
The scope of most criminal searches is 7 - 10 years, but a few states allow for unlimited reporting of conviction records. Typical screening for employment, education, credentials, and motor vehicle records range from 3 - 10 years but could be longer depending on where you live, the hiring company's background screening policy, and the position for which you are applying.
Can I still be hired if I have a criminal record?
